This October, Literature & Libations is heading to Brooklyn as The Official Bookstore of CultureCon 2026 — bringing thousands of books by Black authors into one of the country’s largest gatherings of Black and Brown creatives.

And we’re inviting our community to help us build it.

Your contribution will directly support the creation of the CultureCon Bookstore — from purchasing thousands of books and building our retail experience to transportation, staffing, author programming, signage, fixtures, and the countless details required to bring a bookstore of this scale to life.

Thousands of titles by Black authors across fiction, romance, business, wellness, history, children’s books and more.

🛠️ The Build-Out
Bookcases, displays, signage, merchandising fixtures and everything needed to transform our space into a real bookstore experience.

🚚 Transportation + Logistics
Getting thousands of books, fixtures, supplies and our team from Virginia to Brooklyn — and back home again.

✍🏾 Authors + Programming
Creating space for author signings, conversations, discovery and meaningful interactions between readers and the writers whose work moves our culture forward.

👥 People + Operations
The behind-the-scenes costs required to safely operate and staff a high-volume bookstore serving thousands of CultureCon attendees.

CultureCon is an opportunity to show what happens when a Black-owned bookstore is given the space to build boldly.

We’re building a bookstore where Black stories aren't a section.

They're the whole store.
